Sóskút

The area directly below the limestone mine. Apart from grapes and almonds, no other plant can withstand very stony, calcareous soil. The root finds its way to the aquifers in the clay strips between the limestone benches. Dry, vineyard-selected Olaszrizling, Sóskút vineyard is located in Balatonszőlős – the soil is Triassic limestone. Tank fermentation (spontaneous) then aging in wooden barrels for 8 months in 1000-liter oak barrels, corked.
